Action: Show the Pivot Point and Axes

Each cube can show two guides at its center: a pivot point and three colored axis lines. They help you place cubes and see how each one is turned. The controls sit on the cube window's guide deck.

Pivot point

The pivot point is a small bright marker at the cube's exact center — the spot every distance and angle is measured from.

  • Show Pivot Point / Hide Pivot Point toggles it on the cube's window.

Turn it on when you are lining a cube up with a real feature, so you can see exactly where to aim. For why that one point carries every reading, see Concept - Pivot Point.

Axes

Three lines radiate from the center — X red, Y green, Z blue (cyan) — each tipped with + and - labels. A small World or Local word near the Y axis tells you which frame they are drawn in, and the cube's letter is labeled too.

  • Show Axes / Hide Axes toggles the lines.

World axes vs. Local axes

  • Show World Space Axes draws the axes aligned to the fixed frame of your immersive space.
  • Show Local Space Axes draws them aligned to your custom local frame.

One button switches which frame the axes follow, and its label shows the option you can switch to. If the axes are hidden, choosing a space brings them back.

Use World axes to see how a cube relates to your immersive space, and Local axes to see how it relates to your own reference point (see Action - Define Local Space).

Tips

  • The axes make it easy to see whether a cube is square: when they line up with your immersive space, or with your reference, the cube is aligned.
  • Combine with Set Cube to World Rotation or Set Cube to Local Rotation to snap a cube square, then confirm it with the axes.
