September's amazing cover has been graced to us by Taz Jurs {eclipseink@optusnet.com.au}:
a 30 year old resident of Melbourne, Australia. He works as a
Stonemason by day, to pay bills, but gets straight into his "real
work" once he goes home - layering down the paint and pixels
and trying to get his artistic career up and running.
"I have, since I can remember, been fascinated
by the realms that lie just between our perceptions and our consciousness.
I have always painted the macabre or fantastic... gods, goddesses,
mythological, horror etc. It's my passion... wait, let me rephrase
that - its my passion..."
This piece - entitled "illumination" - relates directly
to the clarifying vision we experience in our darkest moments,
and reflects the fact that even when all is dark, the light within
shines the fiercest.
"I love moments when the veil between our worlds grows
thin and inspiration flows. Most times I can only catch a glimpse
of what lies beyond ,yet that is enough to sustain me for
weeks."
In addition to doing portraits for friends' characters, he also
sells prints of his work at markets in his area, and is available
for commission work. Examples of his work can be found at portfolios.com,
and he can be reached at the email above.
