Action: Show, Hide, and Isolate Windows
A scene with several cubes shows three kinds of window: cube windows, measurement windows, and angle windows. When it gets busy, you can turn a whole kind on or off from the app window. The cubes themselves stay put — you are only changing which windows are drawn.
Hide or show a kind
Each kind has its own toggle on the app window:
- Show/Hide Cube Windows
- Show/Hide Distances
- Show/Hide Angles
Press one to flip that kind on or off everywhere at once. These choices are remembered between launches.
Isolate one kind
To focus on one kind, use the Isolate buttons:
- Isolate Cubes — show only cube windows.
- Isolate Measurements — show only distance windows.
- Isolate Angles — show only angle windows.
Isolating one kind hides the other two, so you see only what you are working with. To get everything back, turn the hidden toggles back on.
When to use each
- Doing precise placement? Isolate Cubes so distance and angle panels are out of the way.
- Reading dimensions? Isolate Measurements.
- Checking corners and geometry? Isolate Angles.
The solid shape
With four or more cubes out, the app window adds Show Solid. It draws the smallest shape that wraps every cube — a translucent blue hull you can see the cubes through, and the same shape a 3D file writes. Press again to hide it.
- It follows the cubes: move one and the shape is recut around the new position.
- Below four cubes there is nothing to wrap, so the button is not there at all, and a shape already showing goes away.
- Unlike the window toggles, this one is not remembered between launches. It belongs to the build in front of you, not to the app.
To save that shape as a file, see Action - Save Your Data (TXT, SVG, 3D).
Related controls
- To collapse individual windows to small tags instead of hiding them entirely, see Action - Minimize, Maximize, and Resize Windows.
- Windows you are not looking at fade on their own; that is separate from these toggles (see Tips and Troubleshooting).
