Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is ZombieCoffee a plugin?

No. ZombieCoffee is a standalone app, not a plugin. It runs on its own, outside your DAW, and creates standard MIDI files. You then import or drag those files into your DAW.

  • How much does it cost? Is there a subscription?

ZombieCoffee is $14.99 USD, a one-time purchase. There is no subscription. Get ZombieCoffee.

  • Which DAWs does it work with?

Created MIDI works with any DAW that supports standard MIDI files (FL Studio, Ableton Live, Logic Pro, GarageBand, Cubase, Studio One, Reaper, Bitwig Studio, Pro Tools, Reason, and more).

  • What are the system requirements?

macOS 26 (Tahoe) or later, or Windows 10 or later. See the download page.

  • Where do I buy it?

The macOS version is on the Apple Mac App Store. The Windows version is sold through Gumroad, an online shopping website. Both are linked from the download page.

  • How do refunds work?

  • How do I get updates?

Updates are delivered through the store you bought from: the Apple App Store for macOS, or Gumroad for Windows.

  • Can I use the MIDI I create in commercial music?

Yes. Your projects and created MIDI files are yours to use however you want, commercially or non-commercially, standalone or embedded in your music, without attribution.

  • Does it use AI or need an internet connection?

No. ZombieCoffee generates MIDI from rules you define, not AI. It works fully offline, and your projects stay on your computer. See the privacy policy.

  • What kind of producer is this for?

ZombieCoffee is strongest for producers building drum, percussion, and sample-trigger MIDI in electronic genres like house, techno, drum and bass, breakbeat, IDM, and adjacent experimental work.

  • Can I make exact melodies with it?

It is built for rhythm and controlled note randomization. If you want an exact melodic line, export the MIDI and edit pitches directly in your DAW.

  • Can I use multiple instruments in one idea?

Yes. Create multiple tracks and generate the project. MIDI is generated for the combined tracks and the individual tracks. Map each track to its own sampler, drum rack, or instrument in your DAW. You can also use a specialized plugin that maps notes to samples.

  • Does it work with screen readers?

Yes. ZombieCoffee has a text Command Window designed for VoiceOver, and adjustable font sizes. See the accessibility page.
